THE FIRST BANK DONATES $50,000 TO BILOXI PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The First Bank recently donated $50,000 to the Biloxi Public School District to support the Biloxi Early Learning Collaborative, a prekindergarten program for students four years of age. The donation will benefit the development and improvement of their pre-K program, which is partially funded by the state of Mississippi and reliant upon donations to achieve full funding.
“It is such a pleasure to be able to give back to our local schools who work tirelessly, and often thanklessly, to educate future generations,” said Eric Kravette, Mississippi Gulf Coast division manager for The First Bank. “The First Bank is committed to helping our communities thrive, and the best way to accomplish this goal is to start with our youngest and most impressionable population.”
Throughout the state of Mississippi, The First Bank has donated over $400,000 to schools in 2023 in addition to their contribution to the Biloxi Public School District. A strong proponent of education, the bank has awarded over $150,000 to the Biloxi Public School District alone over the last two years.
“On behalf of my school district, I would like to extend an enormous thank you to The First Bank for their generous donation of $50,000 to the Biloxi Early Learning Collaborative,” said Marcus Boudreaux, superintendent for the Biloxi Public School District. “Your donation directly impacts the Biloxi community by providing our students with educational opportunities they may not have otherwise experienced. Students that exit our pre-K program are highly prepared for kindergarten and enter with the skills needed for success. Your continued support of the Biloxi Public School District has many positive impacts on the future of Biloxi, and for that, I am so thankful.”
